What is included in the £199 Bump to Baby package?

Booking our flagship £199 package is not only incredible value, it’s a memory making experience designed to celebrate and capture your baby’s entrance to the world.

Your package includes 4 carefully planned sessions in my home studio in Girton, Cambridge with Victoria Sturdy, Multi Award-Winning photographer a selection of prints and hi-res digital images

When should I book?

In short, as soon as you can after your 12 weeks scan.

To maintain Victoria Sturdy Photography standards, studios limit bookings to around 8 newborn babies per month.  This means your photographer is guaranteed to have time to create a memorable experience, but it also means packages should be booked well in advance.

If we are unable to confirm your booking prior to your baby’s arrival, then we can add your name to our reserve list and send updates if spaces become available.

 

Do I have to attend all shoots?

One of the most common questions we are sent is, ‘Do I have to have a maternity shoot?’.

Of course not, we totally understand that as much as you might like some special shots of your baby bump, some of us just do not want to get in front of a camera. If this is the case the Watch Me Grow package would suit you better.

Can I book individual shoots?

Yes, you can find details of individual shoot prices here.

The £199 Bump to Baby package has been designed to capture your baby’s entire first year, but if that’s not what you need, then you can select individual shoots.

You will still be able to purchase additional artwork from each session, however it is likely to be more cost effective booking a £199 Bump to Baby package.

Our individual shoots start from £99 and include the session fee. Packages are sold separately.

Where is your studio?

My home sturdio is located at 34 Thornton Close, Girton,Cambridge CB3 0NG.

The nature of the photoshoots means you will travel to my home studio, but you will be well looked after when you arrive.  I provides snacks, refreshments, bathrooms, baby changing and feeding facilities.  You will always be given plenty of time and space to relax and enjoy the session.

As a parent of 4 children, Vicky knows exactly what you have been going through.  By the time you arrive for your newborn photoshoot it’s common to crave some calm downtime with your new baby.  It is easy to find yourself rushing about so fast you miss the moment.

Vicky puts as much attention into creating spaces for parents to relax as she does into our photoshoots.  We’ll do our best to make your time with us special.

 

Are there Wall art, Albums, prints & digital images options?

Following your shoot, your photographer will invite you to a private Viewing & Ordering Session.

During your session there will be samples of wall art, albums and other print products for oyur to touch and feel. When you recieve your online gallery you will select your complimentary image and any additional artwork you wish to keep.

Individual prints can be purchased from £60.

Photographs are single-handedly the most precious possession a family can have as a monument to the life of memories they build together. No matter the age or quality of a photo, there is no measure to its worth once the moment it was taken in has passed.
 

I forgot to schedule a newborn session is it too late?

It is never too late to have your baby photographed. It is important to manage expectations of a session. Curly sleepy newborn photos are never guaranteed but usually achieved with babies under 2 weeks. A 6 week baby may sleep during a session and have awake time, but may not be able to curl into womb positions or want to be wrapped. We do believe that generally babies can be successfully photographed at any age.

 

What if my baby doesn’t sleep?

Many babies do not sleep through their session. Some are wide awake the entire time!! We can usually still achieve some amazing images, especially if they are wrapped!

 

What if my baby cries?

Babies are babies and they will cry! We do everything we can to soothe and comfort them and surround them with a comfortable environment. Vicky has been working with newborns for over 7 years straight and as a Mother herself has many soothing techniques and tips.

 

What if we can not get any great baby photos? Do I get a refund or a reshoot?

Vicky has a very successful record for being able to achieve a wide variety of newborn images even with fussy babies. We will do everything we can to achieve newborn images and soothe your baby. In the event that photographing your baby seems impossible, Vicky will discuss options with you during the session.

 

How many images does Vicky provide?

Sessions can be anywhere from 2-3 hours and the amount of images captured depends on how well the newborn is doing during transitioning of the poses. A newborn solo session can have anywhere from 50-100 images captured, whereas a family newborn session can have anywhere from 75-200 images captured. Vicky will go through your session images and eliminate any duplicates or blurry images, unflattering angles and blinks and remove them prior to uploading your gallery. You will then see a "soft edit" and once you choose your images in your package, editing will begin. Your final gallery will be around 30 unique images.

 

Can we include parent poses, our other children and our dog?

Please take a look at the session fees. We have session fees for photographing baby only, or for a full newborn family session. If you would like to include the parents, siblings and any other family members, please chose the family newborn session option.

 

My baby just got circumcised should we still come?

As long as he is healing well yes. Most babies have healed by their session. Many Parents use vaseline or another gel that the Dr. has recommended for healing. We will keep the area protected and we can avoid naked images if you wish. We photograph hundreds of babies that have been circumcised with no issues. If your baby has had a later circumcision, they can still have their session and all normal precautions are made. Please feel free to discuss this with us during your session. We want you to be fully involved in the process.

 

My baby still has their umbilical cord on, is it ok to take photos?

Yes! Most babies that come still have their cord on, as it may take a full two weeks for it to fall off. Some babies even lose their cords during their session! When babies are wrapped, we wrap with their diaper on and cover the cord so that it does not catch on the fabric. When they are naked, we gently can cover the area to keep it protected. We are very cautious with newborn babies and we are aware of the post delivery care that is needed.

 

What if my toddler does not cooperate?

Children are children, and we do the best we can when working with them of any age. We have quite a few tricks up our sleeves and with your permission we can offer them treats or incentives for capturing sweet images.

 

Is there retouching? My baby has acne and my toddler has a scratch on their nose!

YES! There is always retouching available. Standard retouching is included, such as removal of acne or for assistants hands who are spotting ans supportinf. For more advanced changes such as headswaps or color changes, they require an additional charge.

 

How quickly can I see the images?

Images are generally ready to see within 2 weeks of your session, usually less. We have been providing online galleries and you can choose your images from the comfort of your home. We do offer prints, frames, books and other items and the information is in our product Guide.

How do I reserve a session?

Please call our studio during normal business hours or send an email to victoria.sturdy@outlook.com You can also fill out a contact form on the website and have us call you. Payment is due to book your session. You can purchase a session on this website via the Shop.

 

What do the digital packages come with? 

Please refer to our pricing page where we list the packages and what is included. For Print packages, products and prints are included depending on the package selected. The digital packages include the session fee and the digital images listed.

 

Do you offer discounts?

We have specials all year round at various times. Please signup for our newsletter so you are informed when we have specials. Sign up here

 

Do you provide clothing for maternity?

Yes we have over 100 gowns available at no cost to you. We also have clothing for babies up to 18m of any age. We do not provide clothing for men or boys.

 

Do you have clothing for newborns and props?

Yes we have tons! You really do not need to bring anything. For special requests, please let us know ahead of time.

 

How long are your sessions?

Maternity – approximately 30-60mins 

Newborn – approximately 2 hours

Family – approximately one hour

Children anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on session and age

Please know there is no real “timer” on our sessions, the above is an estimate and sessions may take less or more time

 

Do you provide nude photography?

Yes we offer nude maternity photography and discretion is provided

 

Do you give Raw, unedited images?

No we do not give Raw images.

 

Can I have the originals?

We do not give original images

 

What if I do not want retouching?

During the ordering session we provide “soft proofing” online gallery, which means your images are not retouched ahead of time. You choose your images and the level of retouching

 

Can I bring my dog?

You can but we can not guarantee your dog will behave, so this is at your discretion

 

How long does it take to receive an order?

This depends on what you are ordering. Most digital orders take around 2 weeks, however retouching may add time in delivery. Albums, wall art and prints can be ypo to 4 weeks. We will let you know your estimated delivery time at time of ordering

 

Can I order more pictures later

Yes you can. We can only guarantee holding images for 30 days, however we store our images on backups and usually can go back quite some time on image files.

 

Do you do cake smashes for children?

Yes we do, I have lots of themed setups for your to choose from. The sessions are all inclusive and include the setup, props, matching outfit and cake. For babies with food allergies parents are to provide any food stuffs or I can provide a fake cake for the the session. See all my available themes here.

 

Do you photograph children?

Oh yes! For over 7 years and I have 3 of my own. Browse my website for samples

 

Is hair/makeup included?

It is not but we recommend Beauty By Amineh – call them and they can provide hair/makeup at our studio or your location

 

I have pre booked my newborn now what? What if my baby comes early or late?

We ask that all clients email or call within 24-48 hours of having your baby. Most babies are booked anywhere from 8-10 or even 12 or 14 days depending on the babys weight. Letting us know when you have your baby early enough allows rooms for re scheduling and adjusting.

 

I missed the newborn window and my baby is now 2 months old do you take them?

We photograph babies of any age. Your baby is no longer a newborn however you can still book a session. Please understand the baby most likely will not be able to do newborn poses or wraps and they are usually awake
