Photographing newborn babies is such a privilege and I absolutely love it. It takes a lot of patience but the reward is worth it – gorgeous portraits of an amazing new life.

Newborn photoshoots usually take around 2-4 hours, which allows time for feeding, nappy changes and getting the baby settled into a nice deep sleep. All sessions take place in the comfort of my Home Studio in Cambridge.

On the day of your photography session, I have a range of props and blankets to use as backdrops, but if you have any special blanket or toys you’d like photographed with your baby, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I can also take photos of you with your newborn, or even the whole family together. All I need is good natural window light! I have a small blow heater to keep baby nice and warm,  it feels like a sauna, it’s good for sleepy babies!

The best newborn photographs are taken when a baby is less than 2 weeks old, so I can’t stress enough how important it is to book your newborn photography session well in advance of your due date. By booking early we can make sure I’m free in those precious first few days – it’s essential for those cute, snuggly, sleepy newborn photos we love : )
