Pregnant or given birth during COVID-19: online support network

As some of you may know, I recently set up a new group for Mummy-to-be's & new Mummy's. right now in the world is heartbreaking on so many levels. For those who have lost a love one, my heart aches for oyu and for those who are sick I pray everyday that your family remains healthy and safe. I have had to make the heartbreaking decision to camcel of of the newborn and baby sessions and with talking to my clients and my pregnany friends and those who have just given birth, they've each shared their worries/ excitement with me and all have had different views on how they're handling carrying a baby during this global pandemic, but most have said they have no one to share it with as they're not going out to classes etc. So I came up with an idea to create a support netwotk for these women. I set up a Facebook group to discuss your fears, share your excitement, give advice and make new friends! There will be lots of positivity in the group on how to still enjoy your pregnancy and new addition.

Are you feeling any of these...

  • Not being able to announce their pregnancy to friends and family in person and receive all the hugs
  • Missing their last day at work, being showered with cards and gifts, before they go on maternity leave
  • Not able to have a baby shower
  • Can’t go baby clothes or maternity clothes shopping in town with friends, mum or partner
  • Generally missing out on the fuss and special treatment pregnant women tend to attract
  • Can’t attend any pregnancy or antenatal classes
  • Extremely worried about health
  • Worried about going into hospital where they know there is a serious risk to health ongoing
  • Worried about bringing a baby into the world when there is such a huge crisis going on
  • Will only be able to have one birthing partner at hospital (this may change, keep an eye on local rules)
  • Won’t be able to have any visitors to the hospital when baby arrives
  • Won’t be able to have visitors to the house to meet the baby – including grandparents!

It is a friendly group for anyone who is pregnant or has recently given birth during the coronavirus outbreak. Everyone within the group will be sharing the same experience, feeling the same things, and will have the same worries. Use the group as your comfort to know you're not alone, you can talk about anything, ask for advice, share great tips, have a general discussion. Use it as your support network and make new friends. I'll also be sharing great advice on how to get through this time and still have the exciting pregnancy announcements & gender reveals etc too, just with an isolation twist! There will also be online antenatal classes, pregnancy yoga, midwife appointments, breastfeeding support and more - all free.

Please join, and invite anyone who you think would benefit from it!
